The Reading Group is a not-for-profit learning center which specializes in serving children
and adults who struggle with learning difficulties. Our staff consists of highly qualified
learning and disabilities specialists. In partnership with teachers, parents and community leaders,
The Reading Group works to overcome problems related to learning disabilities and illiteracy.
One-on-one instruction and diagnostic testing are available. One hallmark of
The Reading Group is individualized, multi-sensory approaches to learning. Students have opportunities
to use computers and interactive software. Another distinctive feature is the emphasis on helping
each student attain independence. The highly trained and experienced staff provide individualized
instruction for each students special needs.
The Reading Group Mission Statement
The Reading Group provides services for children and youth with unique learning needs and provides
support and education for families and school personnel. The Reading Group promotes awareness of the
specific needs of children and youth you may need non-traditional approaches.
As professionals and volunteers, our goals are to:
ENABLE learners with unique needs to take charge of their differences and become their own best teachers;
EDUCATE and support families, educators, and the community in understanding these learners' needs and approaches to learning; and
INSPIRE our community's appreciations of unique learners, and promote literacy among learners of all ages and abilities.

located in southwest Champaign, at Village At The Crossing. We’ve been serving this community for 37
years with highly specialized, one-on-one instruction. We offer lessons to students ages 3 and above, in most subject areas and
for any skill level, including special needs such as dyslexia, speech and language developmental delay, asperger's syndrome, autism or gifted learning needs.
