Scholarships are available and handled in a confidential manner. They are awarded on the basis of financial need and severity of the student's learning disability.
A committee appointed by The Reading Group Board of Directors determines scholarship eligibility. Scholarships are awarded to clients with phonemic awareness problems
accompanied by the following areas of special weakness: spelling, writing and fluency. Often times, special strengths such as creativity, imagination, artistic
and/or mechanical abilities appear with students with a learning disability. A written recommendation from a school, physician, church, or local sponsoring agency is required.
Full and partial scholarships are awarded. Please note that all scholarships must be awarded locally, with all instruction occurring in the Urbana Reading Group facility.
Scholarships may be awarded to both children and adults. Please phone our offices with any questions regarding scholarship applications.
Full information on providing scholarships is available directly from the Reading Group office. All contributions to the scholarship fund are tax-deductible.
